San Juan has been making quality fiberglass pools since 1958. Their fiberglass pools are built using state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and the finest quality materials. All San Juan fiberglass pools are manufactured in a controlled factory environment under strict supervision, resulting in a predictable high-quality product right down to the tile and accessory installations.

San Juan pools use a minimum of five hand-laid layers of fiberglass. Two types of fiberglass are combined, 1 1/2 ounce mat and 24-ounce heavy-woven roving, which are placed in alternate layers. In stress areas and overlapping seams, there can be as many as ten layers of fiberglass and resin. Coring and other fillers can make the walls more brittle and inhibit the flexural strength of the fiberglass. No fillers are used in the construction of San Juan fiberglass pools.

The satin smooth gel coat that San Juan uses is an NPG-Isophthalic resin, and it is put on approximately 32-mils think during two applications, which is 30 percent more than some manufacturers.
